The Program

The Shulman Center program has been continually evolving and fine-tuning from its earliest successful results. Typically, 90% of our clients enroll in and successfully complete the basic program structure:

  • 10 one hour-long sessions with Mr. Shulman in person or by phone within a 90 day period
  • For one of these 10 sessions, it is highly recommended that a family member or friend attend a “joint session”
  • A 30-day follow-up session with Mr. Shulman in person or by phone
  • Reading and working from one or more of Mr. Shulman’s books or books by other recommended therapists
  • Participation in either a local and/or online support group (Mr. Shulman created and has moderated a confidential online group for recovering theft addicts since 2000).

Note: Participation in the Shulman Center program includes any and all letters for court and/or employment issues at no extra charge

Mr. Shulman is also available for brief or ongoing individual, couples and family therapy and has an intensive family therapy program that lasts for 1-3 days and may include a visit to our weekly support group meeting of Cleptomaniacs And Shoplifters Anonymous (CASA) on Wednesday evening.

"When I started my sessions with Terry, I was emotionless, scared and I had no idea why I stole. Through the sessions, I learned to slow down my thinking and to feel my feelings. I had been acting destructively in my career, my marriage and with everyone in my life.

I have learned I don’t have to steal when I feel out of control. I also have learned what my triggers are, what the signs are that could make be out of control, and the things that I need to do to stay safe. I don’t think I could have done it with out Terry. He listened to me, gave me encouragement, and pointed out things I hadn’t seen or felt before."
